Q: How do I care for my jewellery? 

A: Regular Cleaning: Clean your jewellery regularly to prevent the build-up of dirt, oils, and tarnish. 

Soft Cloth: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the jewellery after each use to remove surface dirt and oils. 

Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Keep jewellery away from harsh chemicals, including perfumes, cosmetics, hairsprays, and household cleaning agents, as they can damage metals and gemstones. 

Separate Storage: Store each piece of jewellery separately to prevent scratching and tangling. Use individual pouches or jewellery boxes. 

Cool, Dry Place: Store your jewellery in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and humidity. 

Avoid Extreme Conditions: Avoid exposing your jewellery to extreme temperatures, as this can affect the metal and gemstones. 

 

Q: Can I customize or personalize a piece of jewellery? 

A: Yes! We have a page dedicated to custom orders with all the information you could need! Find it in the 'custom orders' tab at the top of the page! 

 

Q: What is the return/exchange policy? 

A: At AlanaJayne Jewellery, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you are not happy with your order, we offer a straightforward return and exchange policy to ensure your peace of mind. 

 

  • You may return your item(s) within 30 days from the date of purchase. 
  • Items must be in their original condition, unworn, and with all original tags and packaging intact. 
  • We can only offer a partial refund option for earrings since we cannot guarantee they have been untouched/unworn and would have to breakdown and replace the base. 
  • To initiate a return, please contact our customer service team at enquiries@alanajaynejewellery.co.uk with your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return. 
  • Once your return is approved, you will receive a return authorization and instructions on how to send the item(s) back. 
  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to a mistake on our part or a defective item. 
  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method once the returned item(s) are received, inspected, and deemed to be in their original condition. 

 

Q: What materials are used in your jewellery? 

  • A: We currently use Sterling silver and Gold-filled metals to avoid any potential issues with allergies. If you would like an alternative material base please don’t hesitate to get in touch and we can see how we can accommodate you!  

 

Q: What is the difference between gold-plated and gold-filled jewellery? 

  • A: Gold-plated and gold-filled jewellery differ primarily in the thickness of the gold layer and subsequent durability. Gold-plated jewellery features a thin gold coating applied through processes like electroplating, making it more affordable but susceptible to wear and tarnish over time. In contrast, gold-filled jewellery has a thicker layer of gold mechanically bonded to a base metal, offering greater durability and longevity compared to gold-plated pieces. While both options are more budget-friendly than solid gold, gold-filled jewellery strikes a balance between affordability and durability, making it a preferred choice for those seeking a higher quality and longer-lasting gold finish. 

 

Q: What is the different between Sterling silver and silver plated? 

  • A: Sterling silver and silver-plated items differ fundamentally in their composition and durability. Sterling silver is a precious metal alloy made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, often copper, providing strength and resilience. It is recognized for its inherent value, resistance to tarnish, and suitability for long-term wear. On the other hand, silver-plated items consist of a base metal coated with a thin layer of silver, making them more affordable but prone to tarnishing and wear over time. Sterling silver represents a higher quality and lasting investment, while silver-plated items are a cost-effective option with a less enduring silver layer. 

 

Q: Do you offer international shipping? 

  • A: Yes we do. We only offer an international tracked service through royal mail at a higher price to ensure a lower chance of orders becoming lost in transit or delayed without knowledge. This is so we can ensure international customers have the best and easiest experience with receiving their jewellery from us.
